Oil and gas supply chains operate within demanding qualification and documentation frameworks. Regulatory requirements, operator specifications, and the consequences of component failure in remote or hazardous environments all demand a level of material traceability, process control, and certification that goes beyond general industrial practice.
Fluorocarbon's quality management system, certifications, and documentation processes are designed to meet the expectations of oil and gas operators, EPCs, and equipment OEMs. Every component we supply leaves with a complete, auditable documentation pack as standard, not on request.
NORSOK M-710 is the recognised industry standard for qualifying non-metallic sealing materials for use in oil and gas equipment.
Fluorocarbon's NORSOK M-710 qualified materials have been approved in accordance with NORSOK M-710 Annex C by Element Materials Technology (Report No. C3014-1). This qualification provides certified assurance of resistance to sour-gas environments (H₂S exposure), high-pressure rapid decompression, and long-term chemical compatibility under the conditions defined by the standard, giving operators and their supply chains confidence in material performance under the most demanding subsea and wellbore conditions.
Fluorocarbon operates under an ISO 9001- certified quality management system, a standard that exceeds the requirements of general industrial quality management and reflects our commitment to the documentation, traceability, and process control that safety-critical supply chains demand.
We provide comprehensive documentation to support customer and programme requirements, including:
Certificate of Conformance (CoC)
Confirms the component has been manufactured, inspected, and documented in accordance with the applicable drawing, revision, and quality standard.
Material Certification
Raw material certification from the material manufacturer, confirming grade, specification, heat/lot number, and test results.
NORSOK M-710 Qualification Documentation
Available for components supplied in NORSOK-qualified Fluorinoid® grades: including test report reference, material designation, and qualification scope confirming compliance with NORSOK M-710, Annex C.
Inspection Report
Dimensional and visual inspection results against drawing requirements, including measurement data for critical characteristics.
First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
Full dimensional and process verification against all drawing requirements prior to production release.
Material Traceability Records
Full traceability from raw material source through to finished component: heat/lot number, CoC, and material grade are captured and supplied with every delivery.
8D / CAPA reports
Non-conformances managed through a documented 8D corrective action process with defined response timelines.
Fluorocarbon's in-house analytical capability supports material qualification for oil and gas applications. Our available testing includes tensile testing, dynamic mechanical analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, hardness testing, and specific gravity measurement, enabling material properties to be verified against specification before production supply.
This testing infrastructure supports both new material qualifications and equivalency evaluations for material change scenarios, where a material substitution must be demonstrated to be technically equivalent to the originally qualified grade before it can be used in supply.
Complete supplier information pack provided on request, including quality certifications such as NORSOK M-710 approval documentation and AS9100 certificate, a manufacturing capability overview, material and process scope, and examples of standard documentation outputs. Issued within 2 business days of request.
For applications requiring material or component testing before production commitment, we supply samples and test pieces for customer or third-party evaluation.
Test requirements and acceptance criteria (dimensional, chemical, NORSOK compliance, or application-specific performance tests) agreed at this stage.
First articles produced and inspected against all drawing requirements before production release. Process parameters locked at first article approval and controlled through the production lifecycle.
Production not released without customer sign-off.
Batch traceability, certificates of conformance, and material certification ship as standard with every order.
On-time delivery performance, non-conformance rates, and corrective action closure data available in whatever format your supplier scorecard requires.
Material Change & Obsolescence Management
Material obsolescence and supply chain disruption are ongoing challenges in oil and gas supply chains, particularly for programmes where components are qualified against specific material grades that may be discontinued or subject to regulatory change.
Fluorocarbon manages material change processes through a structured qualification approach: formal notification of any proposed change, equivalency evaluation against the original material specification, third-party testing where required by the qualification standard, customer sign-off before implementation, and an updated qualification and documentation package issued before the first post-change delivery.
For legacy components, where original material specifications are incomplete or source materials have been discontinued, we provide structured re-qualification support, producing a complete qualification record that gives your integrity and quality teams confidence in the replacement material.
For Fluoroglide® Skidway applications, Fluorocarbon can provide project support that extends beyond component supply.
This includes pre-project consultancy and skidway layout design, bearing selection and sizing against load, contact pressure, and movement envelope requirements, along with on-site support for installation and commissioning, and post-installation inspection guidance.
We can support you through the whole process.
Our engineering team has supported loadout operations and bearing installations on major Oil & Gas infrastructure projects worldwide by providing the knowledge transfer to customer engineering teams that ensures correct installation and optimal in-service performance.
