Industrial applications across medical, pharmaceutical, food, automotive, off-highway, and chemical processing sectors each carry their own documentation, traceability, and compliance requirements. A medical device component requires biocompatibility and FDA material compliance. An automotive seal requires PPAP documentation. A food processing component requires FDA food contact certification. A pharmaceutical processing part requires full batch traceability against a controlled material specification.
Fluorocarbon's quality management system and documentation processes are structured to meet the requirements of each industrial sector, providing the specific certification, compliance evidence, and traceability documentation that each application demands as standard rather than on special request.
Fluorocarbon operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system, a standard that exceeds the requirements of general industrial quality management and provides the independently audited framework for process control, documentation, and traceability that safety-critical and regulated supply chains require across all industrial sectors.
For medical and pharmaceutical applications: FDA-compliant materials available across the full fluoropolymer and engineering plastic range. Materials tested to relevant European, US, and international standards. Biocompatibility documentation available for applicable grades. Full batch traceability from raw material through to finished component as standard.
For food and beverage applications: FDA-compliant and EU food contact regulation-compliant material grades available. F-LON® food-safe coating systems formulated to FDA requirements. Full material certification confirming food contact compliance issued with every delivery.
For automotive applications: APQP and PPAP documentation available. SPC data can be provided where required. Complete documentation and traceability supplied as standard. Automotive-specific quality planning integrated into the production process at the enquiry stage.
For chemical processing and general industrial applications: Full material traceability and certificate of conformance with every delivery. Chemical resistance data and material certification confirming grade and specification are available on request.
We provide comprehensive documentation to support customer and programme requirements, including:
Certificate of Conformance (CoC)
Confirms the component has been manufactured, inspected, and documented in accordance with the applicable drawing, revision, and quality standard.
Material Certification
Raw material certification from the material manufacturer, confirming grade, specification, heat/lot number, and test results.
Inspection Report
Dimensional and visual inspection results against drawing requirements, including measurement data for critical characteristics.
First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
Full dimensional and process verification against all drawing requirements prior to production release.
Batch & Lot Traceability Records
Full traceability from raw material source through to finished component, enabling identification and containment in the event of a material or process non-conformance.
8D / CAPA reports
Non-conformances managed through a documented 8D corrective action process with defined response timelines.
Adding Fluorocarbon to your approved supplier list is a structured process. Here is what you can expect at each stage and what we provide to support your internal qualification requirements.
Complete supplier information pack is provided on request: ISO9001 certificate, manufacturing capability overview, material and process scope, regulatory compliance documentation for the relevant sector, and examples of standard documentation outputs.
For regulated applications, particularly medical, pharmaceutical, and food contact, material and component samples are supplied for customer evaluation and testing before production commitment.
Test requirements and acceptance criteria agreed at this stage, including any biocompatibility, FDA compliance, or sector-specific performance tests.
First articles are produced and inspected against all drawing requirements before production release.
Process parameters locked at first article approval and controlled through the production lifecycle to ensure batch-to-batch consistency.
Production not released without customer sign-off.
We provide batch traceability, certificates of conformance, and material certification as standard with every order.
On-time delivery performance, non-conformance rates, and corrective action closure data available in whatever format your supplier scorecard requires.
Case Study: When the clamps freeze, production stops: F-LON® 7120 solved both problems at once
A pharmaceutical manufacturer operating liquid gas tanker delivery systems faced two problems simultaneously: the triclover clamps used to secure the delivery pipework were freezing to the pipes during decanting operations, causing downtime every time the delivery system needed to be disconnected, and the clamps required chemical resistance to withstand the aggressive environment of a pharmaceutical liquid gas delivery system.
Fluorocarbon applied F-LON® 7120, an advanced chemical-resistant coating with cryogenic stability, to the inner surfaces of the clamps. The coating prevented the freezing adhesion between clamp and pipe, allowing straightforward removal of the delivery system even in frozen conditions, while simultaneously providing the chemical protection the environment demanded.
Two problems resolved with a single coating application.
