Where seabed pipelines must cross over existing pipes and power cables, friction wear on the insulated coating of the pipeline, high-voltage power cables, and high-temperature pipelines can result in damage.
At these cross-over places, concrete or steel structures are intended to support the pipes and cables, which are constantly expanding and contracting owing to temperature changes. FL340 Sleepers & Buckling initiators alleviate these issues with less adverse effect on the environment and are virtually maintenance free.
Product Advantages
Our range of FL340 Bearing Sleeper Pads have been developed for subsea use, for the crossover points of power cable and pipeline support walls.
These types of bearings can also be used in subsea buckle initiation sleeper units as slideways.
Fluorinoid® FL340 is specified for subsea applications, including capping bearings in subsea pipe cross-over sleepers due to it's extreme abrasion resistance, inertness to marine growths and low coefficient of friction.
Fluorocarbon can supply Fluorinoid® FL340 manufactured to bespoke finished dimensions.
Fluorinoid® FL340 is an outstanding bearing material with exceptional sliding properties which remains tough even at low temperatures.
More than just a provider of bearings manufactured according to customer drawings, at Fluorocarbon we can assist with material design and specification to address the challenges of the client.
Testing the intended bearing under identical climatic conditions is one area in which we excel. In close collaboration with our clients, we create specialised testing regimens that provide a far more realistic image of a bearing system's performance than standard laboratory testing.
Testing we can provide:
These tests can also be carried out in controlled conditions to simulate high or low temperatures along with simulating environments including subsea by obtaining the correct type of seawater and sand type for the area in which the product will be used to ensure accuracy.
All aspects of the testing is recorded using data logging systems and calibrated instrumentation. We invite clients to visit and witness the testing if feasible, alternatively we can set up secure video links to accommodate this.
We regularly undergo third-party witness inspections of this kind by companies like DNV and Bureau Veritas.
